GO Now is a pilot ride-share project designed to operate similarly to Uber/Lyft within the South Oxnard community.
GO NOW is a pilot shared service funded in part by the California Clean Energy grants. A significant goal of this initiative is to provide the South Oxnard community with a convenient and eco-friendly mode of transportation, thereby reducing reliance on cars. This is especially crucial given the area's history of pollution caused by manufacturing and processing operations, making it imperative to work towards improving air quality.
GO Now is available as a neighborhood rid-share/carpool service that allows you to travel anywhere within the South Oxnard zone. Connections may be made to fixed routes, commuter buses, or rail service at the Oxnard Transit and Center Point Transfer Centers.
Service operates Monday through Friday 7 AM to 7 PM.
Wait times may vary, especially during high-demand periods. Wait times can be as little as a few minutes to as long as 30 minutes.
All riders pay the $4.00 dollar fare.
Please note: Effective July, 7, 2024 GCTD will be adjusting fare prices for all services including GO Now. You can find more information about the change here.
To make boarding faster, you can purchase your fare in advance by downloading the Token Transit app (App Store or Google Play). Or pay with cash (exact change) when you board (operators do not carry change).
Please keep in mind that prepaid trips are non-refundable. Always confirm your trip details before purchasing your GO NOW ride.
PLEASE NOTE: Canceling a trip after purchasing a fare via Token Transit will not result in a refund.
Customers can monitor at any time where the vehicle is on the route by checking the smartphone app. Riders can also opt-in to receive alerts when the vehicle is approaching. Riders must be outside and on the curb ready to board the vehicle. If other passengers are on board, you may or may not be dropped off immediately after boarding. The closest pickup or drop-off assigned to the vehicle will occur next. The vehicle operator is provided with geocoded pick-up location instructions electronically by the scheduling software.
NOTE: The operator does not decide whom to pick up or drop off next, this is determined by the algorithm to best maximize efficiency and therefore the shortest route.
You can download the GO Flexride app on the Google Play store for Android and the App Store for iOS.
