Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) is excited to announce the sixth annual appearance of its popular holiday bus, which will be dashing through the streets from December 1, 2021 through Monday, January 3, 2022. Rides on this “magical sleigh” are FREE all season long.
The elves are particularly excited to be riding the bus this year as it magically transformed into a sleigh complete with reindeer, including Rudolph at the lead. Dashing through festively decorated neighborhoods, the sleigh’s elves are spreading joy and cheer, merrily singing, “Oh what fun it is to ride….” Arriving with the sleigh is GCTD’s new 2021 hashtag, #DashingontheGO, as the District celebrates the joy of gradually getting out of our homes and enjoying the festivities that the holidays bring.
“Each year I, along with our staff and the community, anxiously await the debut our holiday bus,” commented GCTD General Manager, Steven P. Brown. “This year’s design is one of our best, with a winter scene as the backdrop to our magical sleigh! It’s so appropriate as we all safely begin to dash about in our community once again.” Brown notes that safety continues to be a top priority and masks are still required when riding any GCTD bus, including this year’s holiday bus.
Passengers are once again encouraged to take selfies with the holiday bus and post them to social media. New this year, GCTD has created a festive filter on Instagram to frame your photos. Find the filter easily by scanning the QR code displayed inside the bus or scan the QR codes below.
Be sure to follow us on social media for the latest updates on where to locate the holiday bus. Routes will be announced each day!
