Passenger Alert – Service Adjustments

GCTD Announces Bi-Annual Service Changes to Take Effect January 26, 2020.

Gold Coast Transit District will be implementing bi-annual service changes that take effect Sunday, January 26, 2020. Changes will include minor schedule adjustments on Routes 4A, 4B, 5, 6, 8, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21. In addition, GCTD will be discontinuing Route 22 and extending Route 15, which currently operates in the unincorporated areas of Ventura County in El Rio, Strickland Acres and Saticoy. Areas of Saticoy and Nyeland Acres currently serviced by Route 22 will now be served by Route 15.

Route 22 began to operate in July 2015, and was funded by a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality grant for its first three years. However, as a result of low ridership, the route was not able to meet minimum ridership levels.

As an alternative, bus service in Saticoy will continue to be provided by Route 11 and 10, and Nyeland Acres will be served by Route 15. In addition, GCTD will be adding a Route 18 Tripper service (Route 18G) that will stop at Rio Mesa High School twice daily through the end of the school year. A full report on the planned changes to Route 22 can be found here. Other minor schedule adjustments will include timing adjustments in order to improve on time performance.

A full listing of schedules planned for January 2020 and bus books will be available one week before. If you need trip planning assistance, please contact our Customer Service Center at 805-487-4222, or you can email our Planning Department at planning@goldcoasttransit.org.
