Service Advisory – Temporary Trip Cancellations Due to Staff Shortages

Scheduled cancellations will be posted weekly. However, check back often as circumstances may change daily.

Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) is working hard to respond to the community’s request for GCTD to increase service levels.  Like many other transit agencies across the country, GCTD is struggling to increase staffing levels back up to pre-pandemic service levels.  However, due to staff shortages, some trips may be cancelled or cut short.  These temporary trip cancellations will be posted in advance at here www.GCTD.org and can also be viewed on the GOVCbus mobile app. Scheduled cancellations will be posted weekly on the Service Alerts page, and unplanned trips will be posted as soon as that information is received. Our Customer Service Center staff, open Monday-Friday from 8am-6pm, is available to assist you with trip planning and answer your questions.

We encourage riders to check back daily while we work to get as much service restored as possible.

To attract more Bus Operators as quickly as possible, GCTD is offering a sign-on bonus for new Operator hires. Every day, thousands of Ventura County residents depend on GCTD buses to take them to work, school, medical appointments, and many other destinations across the area. GCTD offers a stable career, great benefits, competitive wages, and an excellent training program for their employees.  If you enjoy working with people and are seeking a great career opportunity GCTD is the place for you! To learn more and apply, visit our Careers page.  Minimum qualifications include the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class B California driver’s license, a clean driving records, ability to pass a drug test, and obtain and maintain a current Medical Certificate.  GCTD will provide onsite paid training for bus driver positions.
