Service Alert: Service Changes Start Sunday, January 5, 2025

Please review the revised schedules before service changes start. Bus book is available now on all buses and online.

Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) will implement its biannual service changes on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Some weekday and weekend schedules will be affected. Please take a look at alternative services you can take for impacted trips below.

The following is a summary of the schedule adjustments:

• Minor Weekday Adjustments to Routes: 3, 4A, 5, 6, 15, 19
• Minor Weekend Adjustments to Routes: 1, 4A, 5
• Schedule Modifications (Weekdays) to Routes: 17, 23
• No Changes to Routes:  2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 16, 21

Printed schedules, “Bus Books”, are available on all buses, at the Customer Service Center, and various locations around the county. A digital bus book can be found online.

A bilingual information sheet summarizing the service changes is also available here. If you use trip planning Apps like the GOVCBUS app, schedule changes will appear by Sunday, January 5, 2025.

SCHEDULE CHANGES

• Route 17 (Weekday): Weekday frequency reduced to 35-minutes. Peak service extended from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
• Route 23 (Weekday): New Weekday Schedule: Weekday frequency reduced to 35-minutes. Peak service extended from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

NEW BOOSTER SERVICE

Open to the general public. Additional trips have been added to reduce overcrowding, shorten wait times, and meet increased demand.

• Route 10 Booster: Added trips to ease crowding and delays near Buena and Foothill High Schools on Telegraph Road during start and dismissal times.
• Route 18B (New AM Tripper): Added trip to reduce congestion on Route 19 during school start times. Route 18B departs a few minutes ahead of the 7:45 AM Route 19 trip, following the same route from C Street & 4th to Pacifica High School.

ALTERNATIVE SERVICES

GO Now is a service available in South Oxnard. The service is available to anyone 14 and older within the South Oxnard area GO Now service zone. The on demand service will provide short local trips for just $4.00. Download the Go Flexride App to book your ride between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Sunrise Safe Rides is a demand response service available to anyone aged 16 and older requiring transportation within the GCTD service area from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. Reservations are accepted one day prior, by calling (805) 485-2319.

For evening trips, Late Night Safe Rides is a shared ride, demand response service available to anyone over the age of 16 who requires transportation within the GCTD service area from 7 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Reserve your ride 1 hour-1day before, daily up to 11:30 p.m. by calling (805) 485-2319.

For paying passengers, the use of prepaid or e-fare payment to pay the fare is strongly encouraged. GCTD will continue to offer free rides to people going to vaccine appointments (by showing your appointment or vaccine card) as well as free rides for seniors over 75, college students and youth under 18 years old.  Reduced fares (1/2 off) are available for seniors 65 and over.
